Data Collection

Audio Priority Bar does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. All information (device preferences, priorities, and settings) is stored locally on your Mac and never leaves your device.

Device Preferences

  • Device Names — to identify your audio devices
  • Priority Lists — your preferred order for speakers and headphones
  • Device Categories — which devices are speakers vs headphones
  • Hidden Devices — devices you've chosen to hide from certain categories
  • Last Seen Timestamps — when devices were last connected

App Settings

  • Current Mode — Speakers, Headphones, or Custom mode
  • Volume Level — your preferred volume settings
  • Launch at Login — whether the app starts automatically
  • Other Preferences — any customization options you've set

How We Use Your Information

Local Processing Only

  • All information is stored locally on your Mac
  • Data is saved in the standard UserDefaults system
  • No information is shared with third parties
  • No data is transmitted over the internet

Microphone Access

Audio Device Access

  • Output Devices — to detect and switch between speakers and headphones
  • Input Devices — to detect and manage microphones
  • Volume Control — to adjust system volume

Data Storage

Local Storage

  • Data is stored in the standard UserDefaults system
  • Information is only saved on your Mac
  • Data is not synchronized between devices
  • Data is not backed up to iCloud or any cloud service

Storage Duration

  • Device preferences are stored until you delete them
  • Settings are saved until app deletion
  • You can clear all data at any time through app settings

  • Delete Devices — remove devices from your list
  • Clear Data — reset all preferences and start fresh
  • Uninstall — removing the app deletes all stored data
